My name is Ms. L and I am a 5th grade Language Arts/American History teacher near Austin, Texas.
Fifth graders truly are my favorite people.
I was raised in Houston, Texas and I am the oldest of three girls. When I graduated high school, I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas – Hook ‘em, Horns!
I was an English major and just happened to figure out how much I was drawn to teaching children. So, I switched to Elementary Education and that was that! I love Language Arts so much I also got certified to teach up to 8th grade – what can I say, I just love the big kids! This is my third year of teaching and I'm SO excited.
When I’m not teaching, I love to cook! I have many, many cookbooks and I spend most of my free time in the kitchen. I own more kitchen gadgets than shoes, and menu planning is totally my happy place.
I have a rescue poodle named Robbie (he’s named after one of my favorite TV shows!) and I find my evening walks with him to be the most therapeutic.
You can also find me swimming, attending evening yoga classes, or learning calligraphy.
I'm even known to eat an impressive amount of queso.
Welcome to my blog!
